Scouting can open doors long after the adventure ends. Sequoia Council is proud to offer two local scholarships to help Scouts continue their education and pursue their academic goals.
Randy Olson Memorial Scholarship
The Randy Olson Memorial Scholarship is available to registered youth members of Scouting America, ages 7–20, who are recommended by their unit leadership.
The scholarship recognizes Scouts who demonstrate exceptional promise, personal growth, determination, leadership, and commitment to the values of Scouting. Awards are not based solely on financial need or achievement.
Scholarship funds may be used to support educational and Scouting opportunities, including summer camp, training courses, National or World Jamborees, high-adventure programs, college or university expenses, vocational education, computer training, leadership programs, and educational field trips.
Awards are generally up to $500. Recipients may receive the scholarship more than once, but no more than once per calendar year.
Emil Gundelfinger Eagle Scout Scholarship
The Emil Gundelfinger Eagle Scout Scholarship is awarded annually to one or more Eagle Scouts who earned the Eagle Scout rank within Sequoia Council.
Applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning to attend a college or university and pursue studies related to Natural Resources Management or Conservation, including agriculture, ranching, farming, animal husbandry, soil and water conservation, forestry, or related fields.
