Friends of Scouting

Support Scouting. Strengthen Our Communities. Build Tomorrow’s Leaders.

Friends of Scouting is Sequoia Council’s annual giving campaign that provides essential support for Scouting programs and services throughout Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties.

Your support helps ensure that local young people continue to have access to the adventures, leadership opportunities, outdoor experiences, and character-building programs that make Scouting possible.

What is Friends of Scouting?

Friends of Scouting provides annual financial support for the programs, camps, training, and resources that serve Scouts, families, and volunteers throughout Sequoia Council.

Registration fees cover only a portion of what it takes to provide a quality Scouting program. Friends of Scouting helps bridge that gap and provides resources that strengthen Scouting at the unit, district, and council levels.

Whether you are a Scouting family, alumnus, volunteer, business, or community supporter, your support directly strengthens Scouting here in Central California.

Your Support Makes Scouting Possible

Friends of Scouting helps provide the resources needed to deliver safe, high-quality Scouting experiences throughout Sequoia Council.

Your support helps provide:

  • Camp Chawanakee and Outdoor Programs — Maintaining and improving the facilities and outdoor experiences where Scouts learn, explore, and grow.
  • Volunteer Training and Support — Providing leaders with the training, tools, and resources they need to deliver a strong Scouting program.
  • Camp Scholarships — Helping ensure financial circumstances do not prevent a young person from experiencing summer camp.
  • Program Resources — Supporting activities, advancement, training, events, and other opportunities for Scouts throughout the council.
  • Council Services — Providing the administrative and professional support necessary to serve local units, volunteers, Scouts, and families.
  • Youth Safety and Program Quality — Supporting the resources and standards necessary to provide safe, meaningful Scouting experiences.

Local Support. Local Impact.

When you support Friends of Scouting, you are supporting Scouting right here in our communities.

Your support helps Sequoia Council serve young people and families throughout Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties.

It helps provide the foundation behind every campout, leadership experience, advancement opportunity, training course, community service project, and Scouting adventure.

Every dollar stays local and helps build tomorrow’s leaders.

Why Friends of Scouting Matters

Scouting is powered by volunteers, but delivering a strong Scouting program requires resources.

Behind every Scout and every unit is a network of camps, trained volunteers, program resources, professional staff, facilities, communications, insurance, and administrative support working together to make the program possible.

Friends of Scouting helps provide that foundation.

Your annual support allows Sequoia Council to strengthen existing programs, reach more young people, maintain our camping properties, support our volunteers, and continue providing the experiences that help Scouts develop character, confidence, leadership, and a commitment to serving others.

Every Level of Support Makes a Difference

There is no single amount required to become a Friend of Scouting.
