California Assembly Bill 506, which took effect January 1, 2022, requires volunteers and employees of Youth Service Organizations to complete mandated reporter training and undergo a Live Scan background check. These requirements apply to all registered Scouting America adult volunteers and employees, including camp staff, as well as other adult volunteers who have direct contact with or supervision of youth.
Visit the California Mandated Reporter Training website and complete the General Training for Volunteers.
Once completed, save a PDF copy of your training certificate. You will need to upload the certificate to Sequoia Council.
You must also complete and sign the council’s AB 506 Background Check Consent Form.
